Artist Biography
Ian Laurie was born in 1933, he is a self-taught etcher and painter. He moved from industry to artistry in the 70s and 80s and his work was distributed in Liberty and the Medici Gallery, both in London, during this time.
He and his wife opened a small studio gallery in Newlyn, Cornwall. In 1989 he exhibited in Penzance and the work was well received. His paintings were also selected to hang in the ‘Laing’ Art Exhibition in Bristol Cathedral in 1993 and 1994. More recently his paintings have been shown in exhibitions of the Penzance Society of Artists.
