There is some mild discolouration and some pinholes to the upper corners. There are some minor scuffs to the frame and some slight dirt trapped beneath the glazing.

Ian C. Middleton (b.1946) is a painter and sculptor who was raised in East Anglia and studied at Sheffield College of Art and the Royal College of Art. He was awarded an RCA Travelling Scholarship in 1978 and worked for Eduardo Paolozzi in 1979 before moving to the West Country. His teaching career has included working as a lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art, Bristol School of Art, Falmouth School of Art, Byam Shaw School of Art, Cardiff School of Art & Design, Kingston University, Exeter College of Art, and the Royal College of Art. In 2013 Middleton held a Fellowship at Chelsea School of Art and the following year was elected a member of the Royal West of England Academy. His exhibiting career includes shows both solo and group at Winchester Cathedral, Norwich Cathedral, Cleveland Gallery, Middlesbrough, Institute of Contemporary Arts, and the Barbican Gallery, London.
