A beautiful mid Century landscape in pastel showing a verdant valley on an early Spring morning, covered in frost. The artist has signed and dated to the lower right corner. On wove laid to board.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and smudging to the pastel. There is a tear to the board at the lower left quadrant.

Artist Biography
Artist in oil and pastel, born at Newby, near Scarborough, Yorkshire. He studied at Newport College of Art, becoming a freelance painter and teacher at further education classes in Chepstow for 21 years. Crowther was a member of West Gloucestershire Art Society, Wye Valley Art Society and Gloucestershire Society of Artists. His portraits and landscapes were also shown at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, elsewhere in the provinces and in London. Newport Museum holds his work. Lived in Tidenham, Gwent.
