Inspection under UV light reveals a patch to the canvas which has been filled and retouched. There is scuffing and some minor losses to the surface of the frame.

Artist Biography
Painter born in Barnstaple, north Devon where he attended the local art school. He was a member of the RSMA and is thought to have moved to the St. Ives area of Cornwall towards the end of World War II. He was elected to the St. Ives Society of Artists in 1951 and remained a member until his death in 1976. Ridge was also a Committee Member and Chairman of St. Ives Society of Artists. He also showed at the RCamA, RHA, RWA, ROI and at the Paris Salon. An example of his work is in the collection of the National Maritime Museum.
