The painting is well presented in a wood frame with a gilted edge.
Affixed to the rear is a gallery label which is also signed by Church.
Signed and incsribed on the reverse. On Board.There is some surface dirt and minor marks to the paint surface. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Hugh Church was a London artist born in Haggerston in 1865. He attended St. Saviour's School, Ardingley Sussex. Church married a Jane Helene Wilson in 1892 but she died some time prior to 1901 when he was living at 75 Albert Mansions, South Lambeth and is described as a painter and sculptor. They had a daughter Annie Helene Church born about 1893.
