Hewley Mortimer Baines - Original 19th Century Graphite Drawing. Signed with initials to the lower right. Signed. On wove. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Some spots of surface dirt and minor creases to the paper.

Hewley Mortimer Baines was married to May Harrison and succeeded his father Hewley John Baines in taking over the Bell Hall estates in 1830. The Baines family owned Bell Hall since 1710 after it changes hands from the Hewley family.
