Hervey Cadwallader Adams RBA (1903-1996) was a painter, born at Kensington and educated at Charterhouse. He studied languages and singing in France and Spain 1922-26 before studying art under Bernard Adams (no relation), 1928-30. He exhibited at the Brook Street Art Gallery, Cooling Gallery, RA, RBA, RBSA, RP, Walker Art Gallery and was elected NS 1930 and RBA in 1932. He held a one-person show at the Fine Art Society in 1934 and taught at Berkhamsted School 1937-40 and at Tonbridge School from 1940 to 1963. During the 1930s he contributed many articles to The Artist Magazine and other publications. He was married to the painter Iris Adams.
