Hervey Adams (1903-1996) - Small Original Mid 20th Century Watercolour. On heavy watercolour paper. Unsigned. In fine condition.

Hervey Adams was a painter in oil and watercolour of landscapes and portraits. Born at Kensington in 1903 he was educated at Charterhouse, and studied languages and singing in France and Spain 1922-26. He studied painting under Bernard Adams 1928-30. He exhibited at the R.A., R.B.A., and Leicester Galleries. He was elected N.S. in 1930, and R.B.A. in 1932. He taught at Berkhamsted School 1937-40, and at Tonbridge School 1940-63. He wrote several books on art. He lived near Stroud in Gloucestershire.
