Description

A picturesque view over unspoilt fenlands with wild flora in bloom. Oosterzee employs a soft impressionistic technique, capturing the landscape's stillness with ease. Presented in a beautiful stained wooden frame with a reeded gilt window. The work is signed and dated to the lower left, with the original artist's label verso. On canvas laid to panel.

Condition

Signs of wear consistent with age. Fine craquelure observed in the top left and right-hand corners. Minor surface marks and abrasions in the same area. Light surface discolouration throughout, including yellowing to the varnish layer. Inspection under UV light reveals areas of previous restoration. The frame has minor surface wear. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
