Artist Biography
Henry Schouten (1857-1927) was a Belgian artist born in Dutch Indonesia. He studied art at the Academy of Brussels, and is best known for his paintings of farm animals and rural life. He worked under a range of pseudonyms, including Henri Schantey, Joseph Klass, M Claes, V. Marinus, J.Remis, E. Joors, and Meulat.
