Henry Albert Hartland was an Irish artist known for his watercolours and landscape paintings. He worked as an illustrator for a Cork bookseller and making theatrical scenery in Cork and Dublin. Soon after he relocated to Liverpool where he was made a member of the Liverpool Academy and the Society of Painters in Watercolours.
Hartland exhibited numerous times with the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) along with the Royal Academy and the Society of Artists in London.
