A charming Impressionist work by French painter Henri Olive des Martigues (1898-1980) depicting figures sorting baskets of fish on the quayside. Colourful houses line the harbourside, where several small boats are moored. Signed to the lower left. Well presented in a rustic wooden frame with a gilt slip. On canvas on stretchers.
Condition
Signs of wear consistent with age, including light discolouration and craquelure. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Scuffs and losses to the corners of the frame. The artwork is in good condition for its age overall.
