Artist Biography

Henk Willemse was a self taught painter born in Amsterdam. He was one of the founders of the Amsterdam Artists Combination (AKC) that played an important role in the Amsterdam artists' circuit in the 1950s. His landscapes and cityscapes adopted a figurative style using a bold palette and confident forms.
