A wonderful study of a young girl asleep and wrapped in a linen ticking blanket. Her flushed red cheeks match her rose red lips and the intricate striped pattern cloth that covers her. Well presented in an ornate gilt effect frame. Signed and dated to the lower right corner. On canvas on stretchers.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some craquelure. Flakes of paint loss are scattered across the surface but this is very minimal. Some minor scuffs to the frame.
