Artist Biography
Harry Ernest James was a painter born in Leominster, Herefordshire the son of an inspector of taxes. By his early 20’s he was living in Chiswick and working as an artist living in Chiswick, west London. In 1901 he was working in Heavitree, Devon in Nov 1925 he left Southampton to Genoa, Italy on the 'Vondel' with his wife Gertrude Louise James.
Harry James exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Dudley Gallery Art Society, London Salon, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Royal Academy of Arts, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. His death was recorded at Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France
