A fine original 1842 pen and ink drawing depicting an outdoor scene with three male figures with guns, near a waystone inscribed 'From Gloucester VIII Miles'. The inscription below reads 'Copied from a Caricature drawn by D. Cooke and placed in the 'Life of Richard Owen Cambridge Esq', as well as 'Whitminster House, Oct 18th 1842' and signed by the artist. There is also another signature to the reverse reading 'Elizabeth Onslow 1842'. On wove laid to fabric. Signed and dated and inscribed.
Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and surface dirt. The corners are slightly scuffed, and the edges are roughly cut.
