The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration and light surface dirt. Inspection under UV light reveals no sign of restoration to the canvas. Frame appears to be in good condition. Small touch up to lower right.

Painter of coastal and harbour scenes born in Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire, the 1911 census recording him as a retired bank manager. He was a member of St. Ives Society of Artists, 1927-32 and also exhibited at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, Manchester Academy of Fine Arts and Royal Cambrian Academy. Minton died in a house called 'Lamorna' in Exmouth, Devon.
