A fine Biedermeier portrait of a well-dressed gentleman seated with his two sons. Portraits such as this were popular amongst the growing middle-class at the time. Overall the condition is very good for a picture of this age, with excellent retention of colour. Evidence of restorative work, including relining and areas of overpainting. Craquelure and wear around the edges of the canvas.
