Description
An old timber-framed house stands at the corner of a quiet French street, its pale render and rust-red roof set against a soft blue sky, with green shutters and a green door. The empty square in the foreground and the narrow lane receding beside the building give the scene a still, deserted feel, handled in muted greys, ochres and chalky whites. The painting is well presented in a cream and gilt-effect frame. Signed lower right. On panel.Condition
Minor surface marks and abrasions. Inspection under UV light reveals no apparent restoration. The frame has minor surface wear and scuffs. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
