H. Jutsam - Early 19th Century Watercolour, Country Lane

Item Sold

A view down a country lane with thatched cottages to the left and old trees to the right. A woman in a red cloak and bonnet walks down the lane behind a pony and trap. Presented glazed in a gold mount with the name of the artist printed on the lower edge and a gilt-effect reeded wooden frame. Signed to the lower-right corner. The artist is quite possibly Henry Jutsum (1816-1869), an English landscape painter who exhibited at the RA and RI. On wove.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some foxing and discolouration. There are some mild dents and scuffs to the frame.
