Guy Seymour Warre Malet, RBA, SWE (1900-73) was born in Southsea, Hampshire. He studied at the London School of Art under Eastman and Hassall, and at the Grosvenor School of Art under Iain MacNab. He worked for a time in Sark in the Channel Islands, and in Ditchling, Sussex. Malet exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Society of Wood Engravers, and New English Art Club among others. He was elected RBA 1936, SWE 1947, Coventry and Warwick Society of Artists 1945, and a member of the Society of Artist Printmakers. His work is in the V and A among other major collections. We were fortunate to be able to obtain a small collection of his sketches.
