Description

A fine Dutch School style oil painting depicting a man and young boy playing the violin. The artist's atmospheric use of tone is typical of this historic genre. Well presented in a gilt effect frame with beaded detail. Unsigned. On panel.

Condition

Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. There is a connected network of craquelure to the dark areas where bitumen had been added to the oil.
