Gillian Whaite (1934-2012) - Original Contemporary Aquatint. Artist's proof. Signed and titled below image. Signed. On wove. Condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.Gillian Whaite was born in London in 1934. She studied at UCL Slade School of Fine Art, the University of London Institute of Education, and the Royal Academy Schools. Whaite’s work is represented in collections at the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Carneige- Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA; the Museum of Garden History, London; the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers, London. In 1979 a major exhibition of her work together with that of her father, H Clarence Whaite (1895-1978) was held at the South London Art Gallery.
