This delicate watercolour, possibly dated 1835 or 1845, depicts a couple walking arm in arm with their dog through a blossoming spring landscape. Rendered with soft detail and gentle colour washes, the composition evokes a pastoral charm reflective of the 19th-century sensibility for idyllic outdoor scenes. Well presented in a cream mount with inner gilt detail and gilt-effect frame. Indistinctly inscribed and dated lower right. On paper.
