Description

A beautiful early 20th-century work by Gerard Krol (1882-1950), depicting men felling trees along a woodland verge. The scene is dark and dramatic, perfectly capturing the essence of the autumn season and shorter days. Well presented in a black moulded frame with a laurel and berry running pattern and gilt internal slip. Signed 'Gerard Krol' to the lower left with further pencil inscriptions verso. On board.

Condition

The condition is very good for a picture of this age. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration. Minor wear to the frame. The overall condition of the artwork is very good.
