Artist Biography
Born 1929, Saltaire, Yorkshire. Studied at Shipley School of Art and Bradford Regional College of Art for four years. (College Diploma with two distinctions, National Diploma in Design-Illustration.)
Served two years in the Royal Air Force, during which time studied at Lincoln College of Art, then transferred to London to the Air Force Design and Display unit as a designer.
Came to live in London in 1952, working as a designer/ illustrator in agencies and studios. Further studies at the Central School of Art, St. Martins School of Art and the London School of Printing. Elected a fellow of the Institute of Professional Designers in 1971. Exhibited in London and Birmingham with the B.B.C. art exhibition and at the Royal Academy and many private galleries.
