Description
A beautiful early mid-century work by Georges Merinoff, depicting a tranquil Mediterranean harbour with numerous small boats moored in calm waters, set against an old fortress and rolling hills. Merinoff employs a muted palette of greys, greens, and browns to capture the subdued light, with the boat hulls providing a pop of colour. Well presented in a mid-century style frame behind glass. Signed lower left and dated '33. On cardboard.Condition
There is a small tear in the cardboard to the lower edge (near centre) and upper right-hand edge. Small abrasions to the perimeter of the composition. The frame has light surface wear as well as a split to the lower right-hand corner. Overall, the artwork is in very good condition for its age.
