George William Collins (1863-1949) - Three Original Early 19th Century Graphite Drawing. A view of Shoreham Harbour, a View of Hastings, and another view of a coastal town, with a boat study on the reverse. Largest sheet size 12 x 18.5 cm. Inscribed. On wove. Condition is typical for pictures of this age including some discolouration and foxing and light creases to some.

Artist Biography

George William Collins was born in 1863 and died in 1949. He was a talented English landscape painter whose artworks have been sold by auction houses across the UK including Bonhams and Sotheby’s.

Sulis Fine Art are pleased to introduce the George William Collins Collection which features a rich selection of ninety watercolours and pastel drawings.

Taken from a set of sketchbooks signed by the artist, the collection includes landscapes of the South East of England. This includes idyllic rural depictions of Kent, Surrey, Sussex and more. It also features a number of portraits through which the artist captures youthful beauty in young children and babies.
