George Lothian Hall (1825-1888) - 1861 Watercolour, View of the Cliffs

A fine watercolour painting with gouache highlights by the British artist George Lothian Hall. The scene depicts a view from the cliffs with figures and sheep in the distance. Signed and dated to the lower left-hand corner. Well-presented in a washline card mount and in a distressed gilt effect frame. On watercolour paper.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, light foxing and surface marks, mainly to the sky area. Some trapped dirt underneath the glazing and minor scuffs to the frame.

31 x 59cm (12.2" x 23.2")
Framed Size: 49.7 x 78.4cm (19.6" x 30.9")
