A fine oil painting by the artist George Horne, depicting Dyrham Park, a baroque country house in an ancient deer park near the village of Dyrham in South Gloucestershire, England. Signed to the lower right-hand corner. The location is inscribed on the reverse. There is a label attached on the reverse inscribed with the artist's biography. Well-presented in fabric and gilt slip and in an ornate gilt effect frame. On canvas on stretchers.

Condition

In fine condition overall, with very minor scuffs to the frame. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Artist Biography

George Horne was born in Worcestershire but was educated in Vancouver, Canada at a young age. On returning to England, he studied at the Birmingham College of Art, where he won printmaking and design prizes. He has exhibited his work widely, including in England, America and Mexico.
