George B. Hodgson (1847-1921) was a painter of landscapes and allegorical scenes, mainly in watercolour, who was born in Nottingham but lived in Grange-over-Sands, Lancashire. He was a member of the Nottingham Society of Artists and acted as Vice-President, 1908-17 and exhibited many works at the Nottingham Castle Museum. Hodgson also showed at the Royal Academy, Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, and Royal Society of British Artists.
