Geo Mommaerts (1923-2006) was a Belgian painter. In the period from 1939 to 1947, he was trained as a painter at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and the Art School of Sint-Joost-ten-Node. He painted cityscapes and buildings with a preference for city quarters in Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam. He also painted marines on the North Sea and interiors. Professionally, Mommaerts was a theatre decorator and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels (1963-1983) and at the Academy of Ixelles. He was a grantee of the Godecharle Prize in 1947 and co-founder of the artists' association "Artes Bruxellae" (1974). In 1994-1995, there was a retrospective of his work at the Town Hall in Schaerbeek.
