Gaetano Dura (1805-1878) - Framed Gouache Neapolitan Views from the Terrace

Description

A realistic and colourful gouache landscape, with stretching views over the Neapolitan coastline. To the right-hand side of the composition figures can be seen sat reading and sorting through foraged goods, while on the left, framed by two stone columns, is the picturesque city of Naples. The painting is indistinctly signed and dated in graphite to the lower left. Well presented in a cream shabby chic style frame, with soft textile trim. Glazed.

The textile trim on the frame as discoloured. Otherwise in fine condition.
