These charming figures are each painted on milk glass in oil. Each tile depicts a different character from Dickens' fictional tales. Each character is quoted beneath their figures.
Starting from the left there is Mrs. Micawber from David Copperfield, Mrs. Jarley from The Old Curiosity Shop, Sairey Gamp from Martin Chuzzlewit, and Samuel Pickwick from The Pickwick Papers. These delightful characters are just as colourful as they are in the pages of a Dickens novel.

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. The tile of Sairey Gamp has suffered loss to the top right corner.
