A fashion plate from 'Les Modes Parisiennes', a monthly fashion magazine published from 1843 to 1875. This plate depicts two women in 1850s evening attire. Presented glazed in a blue wash line mount with gold detailing and a gilt-effect wooden frame. Inscribed with details regarding the fashion and hairstyles of the subjects and publisher details in plate to the lower edge. Name of the artist Francois-Claudius Compte-Calix inscribed in plate to the lower-left corner and indistinct name of the engraver to the lower-right corner. On wove.

Condition

There is some slight foxing but overall in very good condition.
