Artist Biography
Frederick James Knowles (1874-1931) was an architect and a landscape and figure painter. He was the brother of George Sheridan Knowles. He was born in Manchester and exhibited at Manchester City Art Gallery, the Walker Gallery Liverpool, the RA, RCA, and the RI. He lived near Oswestry and is best known for his views of rural Wales.
