An angelic study of a naked lady, caught in glistening rays of sunlight. The sitter has been painted with a soft endearing smile, confidently poised in the centre of a slumping bed. Unsigned. Immaculately presented in a bright gilt frame with a white inner slip. On canvas laid to board.Condition
In fine condition. Inspection under UV light reveals no restoration.

Artist Biography
Painter and topographical draughtsman born in London, studied at Goldsmiths' College, London 1915-1918. During the 1920’s he worked for the GPO as a Design Draughtsman having spent some time in India in a similar position. His work, which he rarely exhibited, was occasionally seen at the Whitechapel Art Gallery and The Royal Exchange, London. He was the father of Peter Stanley Bagust.
