A fine late 19th century oil study by Belgian artist Frans Van Leemputten (1850-1914) depicting poultry scratching and feeding in a farmyard. The painting is well presented in a handsome gilt-effect frame with delicate running patterns and acanthus decoration at the corners. Signed to the lower left. On panel.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age including light soiling to the surface of the painting and discolouration to the varnish layer. Light abrasions to the perimeter of the panel caused by movement in the frame. Signs of wear to the gilt effect frame to include small chips and moulding losses to the outer profile.
