The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some foxing and discolouration, including to the mount. Some slight dirt trapped beneath the glazing and small scuffs to the edges of the frame. Overall in very good condition.

Frank Hider (1861-1933) was a journeyman painter born in London about whom little is known. Hider is believed to have studied at Heatherley's School of Fine Art and travelled throughout Britain painting his rural landscapes and coastal scenes in oils and watercolours, in addition to visiting Italy and Belgium. Hider lived for many years in Forest Gate, West Ham, Essex and died there in 1933. An example of his work is held by The Lytham St. Annes Art Collection.
