Frank Hewett (c.1854-1932) was a painter, primarily of Devon landscapes and seascapes. He was born in Leamington around 1854 but spent most of his youth in Birmingham. In 1871 he was employed as a draughtsman and by 1881 he was working as an engineer. Around 1901 he moved to West Buckland in Devon where he painted the local scenery and charcoal portraits. During the First World War, he founded and trained a local rifle volunteer group.
