A wonderfully crisp dry point etching of St Mark's Hospital in Venice with a crowd assembled outside the front. The artist has inscribed to the lower left and signed to the lower right and the etching has been attractively presented in a simple black frame with a wide card mount. On wove.

Artist Biography

Frank Harding was a British artist who excelled in the production of maritime etchings and drypoints. He is listed as exhibiting in London during 1885 and 1890. He had a penchant for illustrating commercial fishing fleets, mainly in Devon and Cornwall and the south-west coast of England. Always confused by several later artists who shared his name but were unrelated. His work is distinguished by its economical use of etching highlighted by crisp, drypoint highlights.
