This bustling street shows people rushing around in their winter coats. In the foreground two school boys walk by their teacher holding heavy book bags. In the distance a flurry of people cross the road ahead of a horse and cart. Signed under the mount. Well presented in a card mount. On wove.


The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration.

Artist Biography

Painter, etcher and illustrator who was taught by Frank Short at the RCA at the end of the 19th century. He showed at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and in Manchester at the City Art Gallery where his views of vanishing Manchester were most popular.
