A particularly fine watercolour scene with body colour by British artist Frank Dean (1865-1947). Two male figures can be seen readying their donkeys with a heavy load by an Egyptian river. The painting has been signed and inscribed by the artist to the lower right. Beautifully presented in a crisp white mount and gilt-effect frame. Fixed to the reverse of the artwork is a label of biographic information about the artist. On laid.Condition

Artist Biography
Painter, born in Headingley, Leeds, Yorkshire, who studied at Slade School of Fine Art and in Paris. He travelled widely in North Africa, the Middle East and India and lived in various parts of England. He was a prolific exhibitor, showing at the Fine Art Society, RSA, ROI, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, NEAC and elsewhere. For a time Dean was a member of RBA.
