Franco Matania (1922-2006) - c.1990 Graphite Drawing Ballerina's Dressing
Description
A finely drawn graphite study by well regarded artist Franco Matania. The artist has perfectly captured the relaxed pose of the ballerina with fluid lines, typical of the artist's classical style. The sketch is clearly influenced by the English impressionist painter Laura Knight, as inscribed to the lower margin. Knight's intimate scenes of ballerinas backstage in her distinctively romantic style has been beautifully interpreted by Matania. Unsigned. On wove.Condition
