British based artist Francesco Pablo de Besperato 1900-63. De Besperato was a Czech immigrant artist who took refuge in Britain after the rise of Hitler. For 18 years he held the post as Professor of Art at Belgrade Academy and was National Custodian of Antiques in Yugoslavia. He was a close friend of the well-known artists Picasso, Cezanne and Matisse. He fought with the Czech Army in France and is a veteran of four wars, holding no less than 27 decorations before exile.
