A pair of original c.1789 stipple engravings from an original set of four depicting the four seasons by Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) after Francis Wheatley (1747-1801). This pair of engravings depict Summer and Winter. Inscribed with the names of the artist and original publication date of 1789 in plate. On wove.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration, surface marks, and wear around the edges. There is a later graphite inscription to the right edge of the 'Summer' engraving.
