Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) - Original Early 19th Century Etching. An etching after Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, best known as Guercino. 'St Prosper showing the plan of a city' from volume "82 Prints Engraved by F. Bartolozzi, etc, from the original drawings of Guercino, in the collection of His Majesty".4. Unsigned. On laid. Trimmed inside plate line with some soft creasing and minor discolouration typical for a picture of this age.

From an album bearing the engraved bookplate of Charles Vere Dashwood Esquire (1745-1821). We can be certain that each of these etchings is original as the album was in untouched condition. Sadly, every etching has been trimmed to or within the plate. Most of the etchings are by Bartolozzi, after Guercino, Perugino and others. Collection Code 19Vf
