A very fine mid 20th Century chalk drawing depicting a sculptural study of the female nude in reflection. The artist clearly has a high proficiency in the medium, producing delicate form and shadow, with soft lines and a distinctly sensual aspect. The use of this medium and a darker textured substrate enhances the visual impact of the work, and the limbless figure is purposely reminiscent of Ancient Greek and Roman artistic traditions.
Well-presented in a copper gilt mount and gilt wooden frame, as shown.
