Framed Mid 19th Century Watercolour - The Fair Maiden

Description

A delicate and finely painted portrait of a young woman in Renaissance clothing, set within a classical scene. She holds a terracotta urn whilst seated in a classical walled garden surrounded by foliage and leaves. The work is well presented in a black lacquered frame. Unsigned. On paper.

Condition

The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration. Surface marks, possibly graphite, appear across the face of the figure. The overall scene is still pleasant and highly displayable. Minor marks and scuffs to the frame with some trapped debris behind the glazing.
