A charming mid-19th century hunting scene depicting guns and their dogs lined out across a landscape, ready for any oncoming game. Well presented in a distressed gilt effect frame with a delicate running pattern to the inner window. Fixed with a C. Davy's Colour Merchant label verso. Unsigned. On millboard.Condition
The condition is typical for a picture of this age, including some marks and light dirtying to the surface of the oil. Minor damage visible to the lower right-hand corner of the millboard. Light abrasion and paint loss visible along the lower edge of the painting. Various wear to the gilt effect frame, including scuffs, scratches and small chips. The largest scratch can be seen to the left-hand rail. Slight separation to the frame's lower right and upper left mitre joint.
